Yep, time for another challenge over at the EWV group...we switched to monthly for the summer as everyone is so busy . And, the theme for June, use blue and metal.
Here's my offering for the challenge:
The background started with a piece of substrate to which I applied gesso, then sprayed with Colorwash (gesso still wet!!), spritzed with water and let it run a bit...did some stamping on top:
I really like this effect, I think I'll be doing that one again. Remember...gesso and colorwash.
The blue parts are pretty obvious, I think, lol...the center of the flower is a Blossom Bucket piece designed by Ms. Wendy. They really add a lot to a piece.
The roof of the house, which is an Art Part, was covered with a mix of black and copper embossing paste.
The metal Ideaology pull is a great way to put a roof over the door. Speaking of, the door handle is a Maya Road stick pin, cut off and glued. I think it looks like one of the old glass knobs.
The DREAM was also metal, which I covered with black UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel). I sprinkled some gold and bronze UTEE on the black, which gives it a cool spotty look. Ok, mottled. That's the word I'm looking for.
The ruler is, well, not a ruler. lol. It's a piece of wood that I applied distress stains to...wild honey, rusty hinge and vintage photo, and used one of Wendy's stamps on. Looks like the real thing, doesn't it?
Whew, nothing like coming up with an idea half way thru the month. lol.
Thanks for stopping by!!
